18 Jan EINE X ZIPPO X BIGGEST EVER MURAL
Eine has just completed his biggest mural to date, the size equivalent of 700 buses ( 17,500 sq’m), set on the rooftop floor of an industrial space in East London.
Below you can watch the documented, challenging task of creating such a large scale and precise work of art:
The impressive piece, in collaboration with Zippo Lighters, required 30 volunteers and six artists to achieve the large scale feat of repeatedly spelling out the word ‘CREATE’.
The truly unconventional canvas required 752 gallons of paint, and took over 500 hours to complete. The piece is a celebration of art and creativity in all forms, with a nod to self-expression and beauty in the unexpected.
The incredible piece is in signature ‘Eine’ style, with his famous colourful letters stretching across the floor at 65.62 feet tall. This piece is a true testament to skill, with the greatest challenge being the scale of this floor ‘canvas’. To achieve the precise composition, drones had to be used to monitor the progress on the floor from up above.
“Painting on the ground was a cool challenge because you can’t just stand back and see what you’re doing. We used drones, string and all sorts to make sure it looked how I imagined, and check that it was spelled right! Seeing the final satellite footage was amazing, I got to create a unique stamp on my home town — a pretty awesome achievement.” – Eine.
