10 Aug Pauline Amos – Evening Standard
Pauline Amos has recently been featured in the Evening Standard ahead of her new show ‘Pity the Meat’ – coming to the gallery next week.
Amos aims to create a surrealist “graffito” ambiance, combing performance, painting and sound works in the gallery space. The work is based on the Surrealist ideal of a subconsciously channelled apolitical art, while the title itself pays homage to Deleuze and Francis Bacon.
The show will feature a large canvas- removed from the flat walls and painted using her hands, then manipulated into pyramidal towers, to become ‘The Carcass Canvases’ originally developed and exhibited by the artist in 2013.
Come and visit ‘Pity the Meat’ by Pauline Amos at StolenSpace, from 15th August – 24th August 2017.
Press Opening : 22nd August, 12 – 6pm
Closing Reception : 23rd August, 6 – 9pm
